Child Care Providers

Workforce Solutions Texoma recognizes Child Care Providers are important partners and viable local businesses. We provide a host of services to you as a business. For information on services we can provide your business, click here. We also provide some special services for child care providers.

Providing Scholarships for Child Care
Workforce Solutions Texoma assists low-income families who are working or attending training, or those that are looking for work, by helping them pay for child care. Child care providers who are licensed or registered through Child Care Regulation are eligible to participate by accepting children who are receiving child care assistance in your facility or home.

For more information on providing scholarships for child care, review our Child Care Provider Handbook that explains our process and reimbursement terms.

Pre-K Partnership
A pre-k partnership is when a school partners with one or more quality child care programs to give quality care and education to 3- and 4-year-old children. Partnerships can either be formal or informal. These partnerships can help families, child care programs, and schools in many ways, with each receiving some benefit. Providers Pursuing Texas Rising Star Accreditation Training Series 2024-2025

The 87th Texas Legislature, Regular Session (House Bill 2607), is mandating that all Child Care Services (CCS) providers become a part of the Texas Rising Star (TRS program). The TRS program is the State’s Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS).  Each Workforce Board is responsible for local implementation of this Legislative mandate that became effective October 3, 2022. To assist Texoma area childcare providers on the journey with the TRS program and assessment process, the Board created a long-term training series, starting in 2023 and continuing into 2025.

Those not able to attend the in-person or ZOOM sessions are invited to view the completed videos on your own schedule. Owners, Directors, and all staff are encouraged to watch the videos as they contain valuable information for all groups.  Once the video has been viewed, you will have the opportunity to print out a certificate to document your training credit for Child Care Regulation. Additional videos/recordings will be posted when available.

Planned training dates for 2024 – 2025 include:

  1. October 8, 2024 – Developmental Assessments
  2. October 24, 2024 – Parent/Teacher Conferences
  3. February 18, 2025 – Minimum Standards
  4. May 1, 2025 – Child-Caregiver Interactions and Redirection
  5. September 9, 2025 – Indoor Environments

Details concerning registration will be sent out approximately one month prior to the training event.
